Our Child ADHD Assessment Process
(Suitable for children aged 6+, adolescents, and school-aged young people)
① Parent and Child Clinical Interview
60-minute telehealth session with a Clinical Psychologist
Explore your child’s developmental history, behaviour at home and school, social/emotional patterns, strengths, and current concerns
Discuss early milestones, routines, organisation, learning, and emotional regulation
Understand how symptoms present across different settings (home, school, activities)
This session provides a comprehensive understanding of your child before any questionnaires or observations are completed.
② ADHD Testing & Behavioural Questionnaires
Evidence-based tools that assess attention, distractibility, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and emotional/behavioural patterns
Completed by:
A parent or caregiver
Your child’s teacher (past or current), where possible
Sometimes the child, depending on age
These multi-informant measures help build a clear picture of how behaviours show up across environments and over time , which is essential for accurate diagnosis.
Where needed, we may also include additional screening tools for ASD or other neurodevelopmental concerns to help guide appropriate referrals and support. (If a full ASD assessment is required beyond the ADHD scope, we will discuss onward referral.)
③ Comprehensive Report
A detailed, clinician-written report summarising:
Developmental history
School functioning
Emotional and behavioural patterns
Questionnaire results
Diagnostic findings
Individualised recommendations for home, school, routines, learning, and wellbeing
Includes a formal ADHD diagnosis (if criteria are met)
Accepted by paediatricians, GPs, schools, and allied health professionals
Can be shared with teachers or learning support staff to guide accommodations and strategies
This report is written to a standard suitable for paediatric review, mental health plans, NDIS applications (depending on criteria), and school support.
④ Follow-up Session
60-minute telehealth session for parents and children
Walk through the results in clear, parent-friendly language
Discuss:
Diagnosis and symptom profile
Strengths and challenges
Recommended next steps
School supports and adjustments
Options for paediatric or GP follow-up regarding medication
This session gives parents time to ask questions, understand the results deeply, and feel confident about the path forward.
